Rahul R. Parikh, MD
Rahul Parikh, MD, is a Radiation Oncologist at Continuum Cancer Centers of New York and an Attending Physician at Roosevelt Hospital. He specializes in the treatment of Lymphoma/Hematologic Malignancies and Brain tumors – benign & malignant. He works closely with a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled surgeons and medical oncologists to determine the best treatment options for his patients.
Dr. Parikh joined the department after completing his residency training in Radiation Oncology at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School / The Cancer Institute of New Jersey where he held the title of Chief Resident Physician. He also completed his internship in preliminary internal medicine at UMDNJ. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York where he graduated with a distinction in research. His undergraduate education was received at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he was graduated Magna Cum Laude from an accelerated physician-scientist (BS/MD) program. Dr. Parikh is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Parikh has authored numerous abstracts and manuscripts, has received a number of research awards, and has guest lectured at several national and international meetings. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology & Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA).
His clinical research interests focus on the integration of patient reported outcomes to improve cancer care delivery and the health-related quality of life in cancer patients. Also, his interests are to optimize the use of image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT), and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) in the management of his cancer patients. He strives to provide state-of the-art treatment while working closely with his patients to provide quality care.
